West Central Florida Section ARES Simulated Emergency Test 2022
OPERATION: “SERVICE DENIED”
DATE: Saturday October 1, 2022.
TIME: 0900 – 1300 EDT.
MAIN INFORMATION WEBPAGE: https://arrl-nfl.org/set.
PURPOSE:
This year’s SET in Florida is titled “Service DENIED” and will be based around the concept of a statewide cyber-attack that impacts our communications infrastructure. While ARES teams based in Florida are accustomed to activations from a hurricane, a cyber-attack has just as much chance of occurring in today’s times with even less notice, if any, than a hurricane.
Communicators from the Florida Department of Emergency Management will be participating in this exercise from the State EOC so this provides an excellent opportunity for your county, volunteer organization, or served agency to test their communications ability with the State and other agencies throughout Florida. This will be a Florida Tri-Section ARES Simulated Emergency Test and there will be ARES Groups participating from all three ARRL Florida Sections.
