WCF SECTION PRESS RELEASE #3

TECHCON THIS YEAR TO DEBUT A FRIDAY EVENING SOCIAL

Starting with the 3rd Annual TECHCON, the WCF Section Technical Conference, this year will be the debut of a Friday evening social before TECHCON on Saturday for those who wish to come out the evening and talk technology or just have a good time of fellowship with their fellow experimenters and builders. The Friday evening social will start at 1800 (6:00 P.M.) and will be held at the Der Dutchmen Restaurant in Sarasota, which is not too far from the Sarasota Red Cross Headquarters on Cantu Court just off of Cattlemen Rd.

Darrell Davis KT4WX, Section Manager and Chairman of TECHCON admits, “This is another great idea I borrowed from the ARRL and TAPR Digital Communications Conference, just like almost every other aspect of TECHCON. Nearly every aspect of TECHCON was borrowed from DCC, with the exception that we do a talk in. The formula has worked for them and it has worked well for us. Just a technical conference and no hamfest, tailgate, buying or selling. Just come and present your ideas and hear others present their ideas. You might walk away with an idea for a new project.”

If you are around Friday evening in the Sarasota area come and join us. For information about the location go to the TECHCON page on the Section website at http://arrlwcf.org/wcf-special-events/wcftechconference/
