The section manager is elected by ARRL membership in the WCF section to serve two year term.   The rest of the appointees serve at of the discretion of the Section Manager.  

Section Manager -  Responsible for managing the Field Organization programs in the section. The SM is not involved in League policy-making (although he or she may have a strong voice in such matters)--this is a function reserved for the division director. The SM's main job is to recruit, through several subordinate program managers or coordinators, League volunteers to staff eight crucial program areas: emergency communications, message traffic, volunteer monitoring, RFI problem-solving, support of affiliated clubs, government liaison, encouragement of technical activities, and dissemination of on-the-air bulletins.

Public Information Coordinator - The section's expert on public information and public relations matters. The PIC is responsible for organizing, training, guiding and coordinating the activities of the Public Information Officers (PIOs) within the section

Section Traffic Manager - Supervises the traffic handling organization at the section level--that is, to coordinate all traffic efforts within the section, regardless of mode or National Traffic System affiliation, so that routings within the section and connections with other networks and digital traffic nodes will result in orderly and efficient traffic flow.

State Government Liaison Is knowledgeable on state legislative and regulatory proposals. The SGL needs to be a amateur radio operator who can monitor and respond appropriately to those proposals having the potential to affect Amateur Radio. This is an active, responsive mission, not merely a passive, "stand by the sidelines and watch" function.
